Michael Patrick McMullin was born on April 25, 1973 at Stillwater, Oklahoma to Clinton and Beverlee (Bruns) McMullin. He was called to his eternal rest on November 19, 2016 following a tragic automobile accident. Mike was baptized into the Holy Christian faith on June 23, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He later confessed that faith in his confirmation at St. John Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
As a child, Mike lived with his parents in Stillwater while his father attended Oklahoma State University. Following his Dad's graduation, the family moved to Rose, Oklahoma while living next to Mike's grandparents. Mike loved the farm and loved helping his grandfather and grandmother do chores and playing in his grandparent's large yard. In 1975, Mike was joined by his brother Chad whom he had many an adventure with. In 1977, following the birth of his brother James, Mike's family moved to Pryor, Oklahoma, where Mike first attended elementary school. Mike also became a big brother to a sister, when His sister Lindsay was born in 1979. In 1986 Mike moved with his family to St. Louis, Missouri, attending St. John Lutheran School for two years. During Mike's 7th grade year, his soccer team won the city championship and finished second during his 8th grade year, losing in a shootout.
Michael moved with his family to Denver, Colorado for the 1988-89 school year during his father's internship at Trinity Lutheran Church in Denver. Following a return to St. Louis, the family moved to Medicine Lodge, Kansas in 1990 where Michael graduated high school in 1992. Mike attended Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, from 1992-94.
In 1998, Mike joined his family and moved to Oklahoma City, while also helping his grandfather with his farm and with his business in the summer. After his grandfather's death in 2001, Mike became involved in the Renaissance Fair in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His love of history and of the pageantry of the Fair became a wonderful event for Mike as he grew in his ability for public performance. In 2003, Mike joined the performance group Red Griffin Productions. Over the years Mike became a beloved member of the group and he loved them. His work with them was more than a hobby, it was a passion.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Melvin Bruns and Clinton McMullin; by his grandmothers, Emma Bruns and Laura McMullin, and by his mother, Beverlee (Bruns) McMullin.
Michael is survived by his father, Clinton R. McMullin and step-mother Mary, of the home; by his brother Chad of the home; by his brother James of Tulsa, Oklahoma; by his sister, Lindsay James and partner Jimmy, of Dodge City, Kansas; by his nieces, Christine James, Casey James, Jazzlynn White, and Cameron McMullin; by his Nephews Cody James and Kaden McMullin; by his step brother Chris; by his step sisters Katie, Julie, Rhonda, and Angie; by many step-nephews and step-nieces; by dozens of family members; and by his "second" family and friends from Red Griffin and the Renaissance. He will be missed as a beloved son, brother, uncle, family member and by all his Renaissance friends. Go with God, Michael!
